Bristol Rovers sign Carlisle

Wayne Carlisle

Wayne Carlisle

On a quiet transfer deadline day, Wayne Carlisle moved to Bristol Rovers on a free transfer.

The young winger played once for Palace this season in the Worthington Cup against Leyton Orient.

He impressed at Swindon Town for three months on loan this season, but they could not afford to buy him as they are in deep financial trouble.

Rovers boss Garry Thompson said: "He is a good kid and a flying winger. He has played over 30 times for Palace, has scored a few goals and will be a very useful asset to my squad.

"The right-wing position is something that's been needing addressing for a while and I am please Wayne has joined us."

The Holmesdale Online wishes Wayne the best of luck and hope he doesn't come back to haunt us!

Elsewhere on transfer deadline day, Steve Kabba has gone on loan to Luton until the end of the season, while Kristian Dimond has signed for Cardiff City on a short term contract.
