Optimistic as ever

Although obnoxious pieces of sh1te and morally bereft if what is being said is true, there is hardly any difference - but there is a small one - between a leader who works in close proximity almost daily with someone they know to be a paedophile/pederast abuser and not doing anything about it {because establishment protection comes ahead of child protection}, and another leader who through sheer careerist ambition ignores the pleas of her underlings that something very serious needs to be investigated.

Both Margarets are looking very very bad in this whole story.

However, like celebs, and not for point scoring, it is important that all politicians are named and shamed. If many happened to be involved in the very higher level of politics then it is of interest purely because it shows the culture that was prevalent at that time.

The question is how they got away with it?

Oh, and David Steel is an utter cvnt too re:Cyril Smith who was awarded his honours even though he and the government knew full well his background. The authorities knew he was guilty but didn't have enough concrete evidence to pursue and Maggie was told this by letter in so many words just before his knighthood. Yet still...
