Hospital admissions from all types of life styles are a fact of life. Many people don't take the flu vaccine and catch the flu and some die of it. Some take the flu vaccine and die anyway because like the covid vaccine it's not a silver bullet and never was. Some people eat cake, take drugs or smoke or drink too much. We do not spend our time adding up who spends what time in a hospital and how deserved they are. The NHS was not designed for that purpose. Sure, people give advice and I believe that healthy choices should be advocated for. However, the whole point of freedom is the actual freedom itself. If someone has doubts over a vaccine it's not selfish to not have it. Their decisions of what to put into their own body comes at their own risk assessment. Whether they want to farm that responsibility out is up to them. There are concerns and if someone has doubts over how these vaccines were developed and the disingenuous language used around it and how the government and the establishment pushed and compelled people then....in my view....that's perfectly valid. Personally, with some genuine exceptions, I only have to look at the characters of the people most concerned that I took the vaccines. Some of the worst slimes out there. Talking about misinformation, information was put out there before we really knew what was effective. People would have lost their lives to that....especially in care homes. The least harmful and sensible thing wasn't to delay the spread but to let the virus do its work amongst the younger healthy population as fast as possible and for immunity to build up. I'm of the view that this would have seen the smallest death toll. Instead they chose the nuclear option and all the fear mongers are responsible for it.....Yet everybody has to pay the price...especially the unborn and it's unforgiveable. Vaccines do not stop infection, or capability to transmit. I know friends who had their treatment/operations for other ailments interrupted or postponed. Tis was the impact that Covid had on the NHS. Thankfully all my friends treatments were subsequently continued and were successful. Others were not so lucky. Edited by Forest Hillbilly (22 Aug 2023 6.51am)

The important point is that 7% of the population were responsible for 35% of the hospital admissions. How many the number was is detail because we know that whatever it was it produced a major problem.

Vaccines train the immune system to overcome an infection. With a respiratory virus like Covid it will reduce the capacity to transmit by reducing the severity of the disease in those infected. As I have already pointed out some politicians over stated the benefits to encourage the take up during a time when the understanding of the disease was still in its infancy. There is a huge difference in trying to encourage people to partIcipate in a national effort to overcome a new threat that affected everyone and deliberately misinforming them. Read this:-
