I'm desperately searching for a positive this week, and it sounds like Eze will be OK for Saturday.

We will need to protect the back four somehow without Doucoure.

Attack might be the best form of defence but can we outscore West Ham?
Difficult to predict this one. I'll hope for a point.

He's out for at least a month according to the Evening Standard. Let's pray Olise stays fit.

If Bowen is still out for West Ham then that would help as he has been by far their best player this season. Nonetheless, we seem to struggle against physical teams at the moment, so I'm going to go for a 2-0 loss.

The dark clouds that have been forming over SE25 will be blown away with a 2-0 victory for the mighty Eagles

I thought he tweeted that he was OK.

Perhaps my positive just evaporated.

Well, we already know the team, so let's hope the low block works this week. It won't work every week, but it will enough times to keep us safe I reckon.

It would appear Eze has ankle ligament damage and will miss at least the games against West Ham and Bournemouth!

A loss, likely aided by our own incompetence, obvious and unchanging tactics and throw in the ref and/or VAR. Probably not a big loss 2-1 or something.

If Hodgson sticks with Ward and Schlupp there will be a collective groan on here and if we consequently lose, much gnashing of teeth.

I can't see him going against type and trying, say, Richards at right back or bringing in Ahamada (who has attacking skills and might go well with Olise)

We'll reach rock bottom if at 75 minutes he unleashes our 'ace card' in Monsieur Mateta.

If he sticks with his defensive mode I see only defeat.

It seems nailed on that we’ll concede from a set piece.
Ward Prowse ia at the top of the charts for assists and West Ham are very aggressive at set pieces with some very good headers of the ball.
On the plus side Antonio , who has caused our defenders a few problems in the past , is unlikely to be fit.
I think they’re also playing on Thursday which may have a negative impact on them.
I think the best we can hope for is 1-1 as I can’t see where our goals would come from.

Goal(s). That’s pushing it
