Yes, and we weren't nice when we nuked Hiroshima or bombed Dresden. Israel in its current guise is determined to rid itself of Hamas attacks and Palestinians in the way of Israeli expansion. We can argue the morals all day, but the people with the biggest guns make the rules. We need to make sure that we and our allies have the biggest guns. That, sadly, is the bottom line. I find this position completely lacking in basic humanity - it's a logic which could justify every and any action a military superpower wants to take. Using WWII as a barometer for morality or acceptable conduct in warfare is not reasonable.

I really would like to believe in a peaceful approach, but we are not talking about peoples who are reasonable. Many are. Not everyone who lives in Gaza is a terrorist. The vast majority want what everyone else wants, a peaceful family life. Nor is everyone in Israel a “settler” who believes the whole of the area was given to them by “god”. Most are just regular people, able to emphasise with the regulars on the other side. It’s the minority who are extremists, but who dominate the politics, that are the problem. A problem that this war is making bigger. Empowering the moderates can be achieved. It needs a strategy, commitment and patience though.

It doesn’t need extremists; they Follow the silly book code and if not you die. This war just gives them a practical reason in others eyes. If Israel gave all their country over to the surrounding ones and moved to Australia the Muslims would still want them dead!

About 1 in 18000 of said people. Was it nationwide and anonymous as it appears that only one opinion is allowed in public. Where was it carried out. These are relevant points to the survey.
