The thing that bothers me about Lampard is that when Tuchel took over Chelsea started playing better and now is looking at Champions League. That would seem to suggest, to me anyway, that any problems they had were in the manager and not in the players. That's a big red flag so I'm wary of him. And there's no way we should be wasting money, that could be spent on a player, trying to pry Dyche out of Burnley. He's just not worth it.

Of the rumoured candidates, my order of preference is...
Think old Valerien has done an incredible job at Barnsley this season and, if they don't get promoted, would be worthy of a shot at the Premier League. He ticks a lot of boxes for me. Knows the club but isn't enough of a legend that his legacy would be ruined if it all went wrong. Has proven his worth at getting a smaller club to overperform. Knows what it's like to be around big players from his time in the Bundesliga but isn't enough of a name that he'd be doing us a favour. For once I'm with Dougie, get him in.

Also if the rumours about Ismael being Freedman's preferred choice are true, then 18/1 on him as our next manager (Hills) or 16/1 (Paddy's) are mad prices and worth a tenner of anyone's money.

Does Dougie know we're in the Premier League, though? It's just that he left and we were in the Championship and he might not know we were promoted.
So I manage a Workshop which provides a safe learning environment for blokes struggling with PTSD and other mental health issues. Being a Palace fan isn't listed yet. |
