You said only 2.5% of grain went to developing countries. The figure was in truth 57%. So if you were correct that must have been in a parallel universe. The 2.5% is in any case a red herring that you are swallowing from the mouth of Putin himself, you pelican chick.

Reducing the world supply of grain automatically affects low income countries disproportionately. Do I really need to explain why? This is a cruel and callous move by your big beaked mum.

Once again.

The 2.5 figure comes from the UN itself as reported in the Irish article I cited on the previous page.....Not a Russian website.

You in your typically ridiculous manner want to argue over who defines who defines the term.....To my mind if a country can't easily feed itself that's all that matters. If it's 2.5 percent or whatever percent it's a serious negative for humanity.

An article, which if you read....which you obviously didn't, includes criticism of Russia pulling out of the grain deal.

To address the world prices for the 2.5 percent:

Once again.....because apparently I have to repeat myself with you....Putin has stated that he'll provide this 2.5 percent with Russian grain. Is this true? We will see.

Also, I'll repeat....Unlike you I was calling for a negotiated settlement a long time ago. All this would have been avoided. By not supporting that you enable these situations to happen.

So when it comes to focusing upon the negative consequences of this war I repeat an obvious fact (which should have been obvious to you back then).....the longer this war continues the worst the outcomes will be for everyone.

I'll address this crap about being a Russian mouthpiece. Back during the Iraq war....a war I'm ashamed to say I supported because I believed the fear mongering propaganda......I don't remember...maybe I'm remembering incorrectly....but I don't remember people against the war as being accused of pushing Iraqi propaganda.

Indeed, it's almost child like to be told that unless you agree with what our media are feeding us as objective truth that you are a Russian mouthpiece. What have I stated that is Russian propaganda....once again, I quoted a UN stat quoted in a non Russian website.

I believe most of what I've said on this thread actually came to pass. I've been far more realistic than my critics.

I repeat, feck Putin, feck Zelensky, feck Biden and feck this war.

This Russian mouthpiece stuff really grinds my gears. The logic of it is really stupid.....If your opinion on something matches someone else's that doesn't make you their mouthpiece. I agree that the NHS should be free at the point of delivery, that doesn't mean I'm Starmer's or anyone else's mouthpiece.

This is a left wing maths teacher guy I've followed for many years on Youtube (I like him as he taught great lessons for free and is just a chilled out guy) and he's also against this war and what happened before it as well.

Agreeing with him doesn't make me left wing, him agreeing with me doesn't make him my mouthpiece.....Frigging Maple wind up.

It used to be one country's 5hlt, was re-labelled and sent to developing countries under the new term of 'aid'.
It's all in the wording.

Sigh

Putins offer of giving the low income countries some grain does in no way make up for the extra cost burden HE has placed on THEM specifically by his destruction of the world trade in grain. The rich can still buy more expensive grain, the poor can not. I thought that was clear, apparently not.

Sure, the breakdown of the grain deal is a negative.

It's almost as if continuing this war is a negative isn't it.....gosh, I wonder who the people who said that a long time ago were.

I mean if people were supporting those peace negotiations instead of telling Zelensky that he must not sign one that all these negatives would have been avoided.....hundreds of thousands would still be alive.

Go figure.

But hey, no lets go feck Russia until we topple Putin (with no way of knowing what comes next) or Ukraine completely run out of viable men.

That sounds sensible.

After you have given away a quarter of Ukraine, will you also offer up Moldova?

If you don't fight Saudi over Yemen, will you offer up Iran?

If my aunt had balls she'd be my uncle.....Sorry, I'm not interested in your forever wars.

You had nowhere to go other than deflect. You are so predictable.

I want a massive pincer movement encirclement of the Ruskies and the Chinese. Then we'll crush them in our cauldron. Ireland to spearhead one column, France the other. Get those reds now before it's too late and they're in our beds.

You are not a "Putin supporter" or "far right" or "Russian sympathizer" if you are looking for peace.

The whole war could have been avoided with just one phone call and it still can.

One way or another I am sure after the US elections the war will end.

That is wonderful. I shall tell my children to stop worrying

Deflect? I'm not deflecting I'm showing the myopic nature of that statement.

Unlike much of the left I actually do answer difficult questions.

Unlike you I wouldn't have got involved and escalated to anything like what has happened. I would have made that peace deal back in March 21 and from there built Ukraine's defences back from the demilitarised zone.....But sanity didn't prevail and the virtue signallers and neo cons did.

Now I would give Russia the Russian speaking parts of Ukraine that they control now as part of a demilitarized deal. I would end sanctions subject to deals over grain and other vitals.

I don't see how Ukraine can take them back either militarily or in terms of keeping the peace.

If they could they would ethnically cleanse those areas of pro Russians whose families have lived in Ukraine just as long as anyone in Kiev calling themselves Ukrainian. And areas in Ukraine have voted for pro Russian candidates from the start.

I would make everything contingent upon security guarantees....which are essentially similar to how conflict is managed in the North/South Korean line.

Unless this is done one of two things are going to happen. Russia are eventually going to take more cities and more territory once Ukraine's counter offensive ends. (They have men and equipment enough for another big try but not much after that in terms of offensive action.) Russia are already making gains in the north around the city of Kupyansk, which is draining Ukraine's remaining resources for their offensive.....They will also have their eye on taking back Lyman.

Or two, the war escalates and Europe and the US get involved with troops on the ground....probably in the form of Polish and other Eastern European troops. This will probably bring in Belarus and everything gets turned up to eleven in terms of the tinderbox....God knows how China responds...how Brics responds.

But in terms of actually beating Russia on the battlefield that's the only way. You'd need to go full in not piecemeal. I said that from the start.

This is of course madness and risks everyone dying in a nuclear exchange....for a war that was avoidable from the start.

This analysis is leaving out all the economic costs of continuing this war on both us and poor nations.....not least Ukraine itself which has now essentially lost all autonomy....that's going to be a problem internally when the war ends, however it ends.

Ukraine is now a financial burden that is going to be forced onto Europe's taxpayers via unethical and indirect means and people were struggling even before this and already face recession threats......I resent it as just another example of highly paid but low quality elites, all of whom seem to continually fail upwards and suffer no consequences for disastrous outcomes.....Their only mode is doubling down because their arrogance doesn't let them see beyond their group think nose....I expect few of them to still be here (and so avoid criticisms) when this war eventually ends.....Which I hope to god is with all of us and as many slavs still living as possible.

Now what would you do?
