Seven Samurai (The original Magnificent 7)

The Maltese Falcon (Had to choose between this and Casablanca)

The Searchers (John Wayne's best western)

The General (Buster Keaton, and he did all his own stunts) I had to include a silent movie as it is the best movies of ALL time.

Way Out West (Laurel and Hardy singing 'the trail of the lonesome pine')

I'm not that old so can't talk about best of all time so I'll do my 5 favorites.

1)Con Air - Funny right at the end when they go to the Craps table: " We have a new player, does the new player feel lucky?"....."He most certainly does!" and "Why couldn't he just put the bunny back in the box?"
Quality!

2)Snatch - No need to justify.

3)Robin Hood Prince of Thieves - Cant believe no-one has mentioned this, an all time great!

4)Indepedence Day - America saves the world again, but still good.

5)Final Destination 2 - Never saw the first one but this was amazing. I've never laughed so much at gruesome deaths!!

Not my top five (far too difficult to narrow down the field that far) but five bloody good films not yet mentioned here:
Airplane: Surely contender for title of funniest ever film? "And don't call me Shirly!"

The Killer: A master director on top of his game! Every Hollywood action movie since the late eighties owes a debt to this film. Superb gunplay.

Terminator 2: Surprised this hasn't got a mention yet. Just remember how much fun the thing is to watch. Brilliant.

City Of God: Brazilian film from end of last year. Some amazing acting from real-life slum children.

Ichi The Killer: Just pips Battle Royale and Irreversible to be named most shocking film that I've ever seen. Therefore it's brilliant. My mum however, does not agree.

Ask me about Ronald de Boer.
