Hi my name is lizzie omara I recently joined this group and I used to be a palace dolly in 1969/1970 season when palace went upto div1 we beat wimbledon I think? Does anybody remeber me and janet packham?

It was Fulham - 3-2, after being 0-2 down. I've an idea that Johnny Byrne scored for Fulham.

Somewhere at home I have cuttings from the South London Press about that great day, including a photo of the players handing out the bouquets of flowers to the Dollies. But as I can't find them, I'm not being of any help.

But I wonder whether any of the Dollies remember that night being in a pub on what used to be the roundabout at the end of Crystal Palace Parade. Is it The Swan? The pub's still there, but not the roundabout. I was there with a couple of mates, as were two or three of the Dollies, still in their outfits. One told me she lived in Rosendale Road, SE21. And there were some friendly, slightly inebriated and very innocent kisses exchanged. Happy days.

I might be totally wrong, but I have a feeling that Bert Head's daughter 'Sue' was once a Palace Dolly.Perhaps there are those who can either confirm or deny this.

Found this Willo.

Sue Head (Bert's daughter) was in charge of the Palace Ladies Football Team a 'spin-off' from and seperate from The Dollies.

Palace 13th 2017/18.

Thanks for putting me right.
But Budgie was playing for Fulham that day, wasn't he? If not, then I really am losing my marbles.
