We were ten inches from scoring first and what a goal it would've been ...pure class it was, so take that lol

How many have we already 'scored' and been disallowed for offside this season?

First lesson by the coaches on Monday morning should be the offside rule.

If we aren't going to go forward very often then it's crucial every attempt has to count.

Just Batshuayi for special training on Monday I am afraid. He plays like an 11 year old on a Sunday morning. You explain the rules to him and how he needs to play, but as soon as he sees the ball coming, he forgets everything he has been told and gets tries to score in a state of confused excitement. Frustrating to see at this level.

It's an individual thing, apparently Bats has had problems with it in the past if true then it appears no matter what the coaches try he just gets too excited and cannot control himself lol

Quite so, he needs to calm down and play with himself before kick off.

to be fair to Batshuayi the offsides against him have been very marginal but he's found space each time and finished with aplomb, he needs service but he is pretty sharp when he gets it, been a bit unlucky for me, our football can look a bit dated when compared to Wolves', I wudnt single out any one player in particular, but our midfield was chasing shadows at times

We were chasing shadows, a they had an extra man in midfield playing 3-5-2 and with Luca looking like he was running in quicksand, it was a tough night.
If we are going to attack teams rather than sit back 3-5-2 is the formation. When fit
Tomlins, Cahill, Kouyate,
Zaha, McCarthy, Reidewald, McArthur, PVA,
Eze, Batshauyi

And both games where we really had a go - United and Everton we looked good.

The issue is we get more of the last 10 games of last season and once we get on a free roll of being hammered and not scoring we go even more defensive.

If we lost a dozen games in a row without scoring that wouldn’t surprise me.

we looked good in those games as we were playing form teams who looked to bring the game to us, and we played our counter game well...lets be honest, by looking good we countered brilliantly, muck like that 3 move last night for michi VAR goal that god ruled out.

every single game v wolves since they were promoted has been similar as they play the same style as us, just with better players.

forget last season after project restart, that was fuked up & isnt a true reflection of football.

We've lost 3 games this season, and those teams are currently in 2nd, 3rd and 4th.
Points taken on board about style, but we are above where we should be.

if you had bet your house on england to beat iceland over a 90 minute game you would be a massive idiot.

obviously im not going to do it, but i think its a fairly safe bet on a hodgson palace team right now.

however imagine how many twitchy arses there would be if people had & we sacked roy & got eddie howe mid-season.

Yes and it Looked to me as if they had an extra man in defence too as they got back really well and closed us down all over the place, but I thought we had some very decent passages of play and we almost managed to get in behind them on a number of occasions, I was pleased with our pace and crisp passing at times so there was definitely some improvements and promising moments but we were really struggling along the back with our somewhat rusty set up.
