I don’t think there would be an expectation among the owners that the team should be involved in a relegation struggle with the money that’s been spent. The point made about it being difficult to play bravely when you are hovering around the bottom of the league is a very good one particularly when the players selected aren’t good enough to do so as was the case on Sunday IMO. If we don’t get something from the next few games PV’s job will be under pressure. There aren’t three crap teams this season.

I agree completely, a lot of money has been spent by Palaces standard, and yet the same ineffective players seem to be rolled out, Zaha, Benteke, Ayew hasn't worked, yet we still roll them out, and no sign of any young players on the bench for a run out, it appears sometimes that PV has lost his enthusiasm.

How so ? I'd love to hear an example if you can think of one. A lot of money was spent in the summer and it had to be. We had an aging squad with little / no sell on value. We hadn't invested in new, younger players - with the exception of Eze - for some years. You seem to think that spending money instantly translates into success. You don't seem to appreciate that Guehi, Olise and Edouard have never played at this level before. That we are implementing a new style under a new manager. A few weeks ago you were spouting about finishing fourth. But a few defeats later and now some of the players that only 10 days ago were part of a team beaten only twice this season ( by Chelsea and Liverpool ) are deemed by you as '' ineffective ''. Get a grip.

We’ve spent a lot by our standards, but historically we’re still one of the lowest spenders in the league. Over the last 5 years (excluding current promoted teams) only Burnley and Southampton have a lower net spend. And So we’ve upgraded the first team, but we are now seeing the lack of strength and depth, which is in part down to the lack of recent investment). I'd expect us to get back on the horse when Anderson and Macca are back.

As you said (and as I said in an earlier post) - no depth.

we always go on 4-5 game loosing streak! Happens every season! been there done that! then we end up on a 5 game winning streak and everyone is banging on about europe etc...
