Thats where we are , thats how we survive in a premier league where the richest clubs have become practically unbeatable with the 5 subs rule where they can change half their side with internationals even if we do occasionally get the tactics right to cause an upset

We have to accept we will forever be in a mini league of the relegation battle ,its the results against the bottom half of the table teams that count not the top half

Our record this season against teams in and around us (villa down) is decent W6 D1 L3 with a batch of games against these teams to come .
No need to press the panic button , we are doing as well as can be expected in this division . Those who want to see free flowing football every game will have to accept relegation because its not going to happen playing against sides with uncountable recources at their disposal whoever our manager is .

agree with this - he certainly look’s determined to put things right - he is fully aware of our predicament

I am not a betting man but if I was my money would be on -
PV to stay till the end of the season - also at the end of the season Steve Parish to be forced out in some boardroom power play, JT to become the dominant force in the boardroom, he appoints his own man in charge of the club (CEO) & PV job really depends upon did we finish the season in 12th or 17th & if he can make a reasonable presentation on how much better we would have done with a few more quality players (better investment)

I'm wondering, if there's no movement as of yet, whether it is a prediction of our results vs BHA (weds) and Arsenal (sun)?

Hard to argue if so.

Steve Parish to co-host a footie program on Talk Sport with Simon Jordan

If your scenario comes to fruition much will depend on who is appointed as CEO as it would need to be someone who knows the ins and outs of the Premier League

Does not seem a bad bet.

Whatever is going on/to happen my concern lies primarily with what's happening on the football pitch for now, and there's little hope there

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

I like the talk sport idea with SJ - Mark Bright could be a regular guest opinion -

On the replacement CEO - (Again I know nothing) but I would wonder would JT risk to install someone (a yes man) from one of the other clubs he has invested in ?

Or maybe he would have had the opportunity to identify someone from one of the PL meetings / proceedings - in any event its all just speculation.

Sweet dreams Lanzo .

Losing matches isn't as important as the way we lose them . We have managed to lose (bar Everton A) with our pride intact .

And we still need a striker

This is My general view too. We are in a particularly bad Run of games at the moment, which beforehand we fared relatively well. Alas, that type of thinking (on the forums at least) seems to be pushed to the wayside. so i'm still Vieira In.

The thing that really concerns me, however, is the manner in which we are playing the game and which we appear to be training. It seems (and I have no real evidence of this, apart from our performances on pitch) is that he is not overly concerned about players general fitness levels, and runs laid back - probably technique based training sessions.
Now I'm not asking for a Bielsa-Style run your tits off/high energy training, but it strikes me that that could lead to a lackadaisical "It'll all come good soon" mentality, rather than a fighting one.

I am in the Vieira in camp. I want him to succeed and get the 'process' back on track to something similar to last season. However I do think if we are still in such a precarious position in the weeks ahead and we do make a change there has to be enough time available to the new manager to make an impact.

This is an easy post to like as it looks pragmatically at earlier results which are difficult to argue against. However, in my opinion we have played pretty much rubbish all season and a few of the successes we had were more than a tad fortunate. I have little faith in PV getting anything further out of this team which is a damn shame because I think the players are better than he is coaching them, but we live in hope.

We have been so inept in front of goal recently that it must be a something that the board is considering.

I don't care if Vieira is sacked or not, just as long as we stay up.
What I would say is that I would have preferred it if Vieira had focused on the task of management instead of bleating about race quotas.

Can you or anyone else shed light on this? What was said and what was the context? I must have missed it
