NE14T Flag 22 Jun 23 9.33pm

RIP to all those onboard. I just hope the end came quickly days ago and it wasn’t a long drawn out process with them sitting on the bottom banging away and considering their fate. God bless them.

Absolutely awful and tragic, seems the titanic disaster has claimed more lives.

NE14T - I think they have said it looks to have been pretty quick, something to do with pressure chamber, and this was described as ‘the only solace’ or something to that effect.

Stuff of nightmares, RIP.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

It seems that on almost every trip there was an issue. This ‘sub’ passed very limited inspections so people are going to jail me thinks.

Seems that banging wasn't them.

The thought of being bolted in like that, I get claustrophobic on a bus.

Very sad loss of life anyway.

Absolute horror. My wife has a fear of water AND small spaces so is not liking this story one bit. But all over in an catastrophic instant which is some comfort to the bereaved.

On your post, I think the owner was one of the dead. I hope they don't look to some employed engineer who assisted him as some convenient scapegoat.

Law suits will, of course, finish the company. The people on board were all very wealthy.

RIP to all aboard. Presumably the sub had developed microscopic cracks and was, quite literally, a ticking time bomb. The whole thing sounds a bit shoddy, to say the least.
I can't help but feel for the 19 year old - was it really an informed decision when you're 19? Paul Hardcastle will be angry.
The firm sound like shysters quite frankly but, obviously, this is the end of that. No one's enjoying the money now.
It was an amazing but sad story and it seems it was actually over a few days ago. I was going to start a thread about it at the time but thought perhaps it was a bit in bad taste until we knew the outcome - which, lets face it, was pretty much inevitable. If you can't recover nuclear subs, you're not going to recover this.
The deepest recovery was close to Ireland in the seventies. They had a few minutes of air left when rescued. They were not looking too clever when they got out after 70 hours.

I went through a phase of becoming anxious on busy motorways.
I still get it occasionally.

It's just the feeling of being trapped.

Going through the Channel Tunnel is fun. ):

It had no safety approval and several experts said it was not sea worthy to that depth.

Hopefully, those in charge will see prison but I doubt it.
