Let's hope that the writers and actors strike leads to the fall of this sick place.

Whilst the media is focusing on the well known and well paid luvvies the strike is not really about them.

In fairness to the Hollywood glitterati they are fighting for the bit part actors and run of the mill writers.

One of the issues is that the streaming services appear to be ripping off these folk over residuals, naturally they don't want to pay every time they show a movie or show.

Then there is the fight over AI. Whilst I think an AI could probably match Arnie's acting skills it is only right and fair that an actors image is protected.

It is one thing to create from scratch an AI actor but what about copying Tom Cruise in looks and speech and not asking for permission or paying him for that right.

Yep, I agree with the principle behind the strikes.....however, it's essentially about the split of money between rich weirdos and less rich and poorer weirdos. But yeah, the hypocrites in these industries spewing all the caring language only really care about their pay packet.

Not all of them of course, just the main body of them.

One of the exceptions, just recently, has been the release of the movie, 'Sound of Freedom' the movie about child trafficing based upon real cases. Disney originally had this movie and then dropped it and apparently it had to be partly crowd funded.

It's turned out to be a big hit.

The Hollywood and even our left wing press have called it 'QAnon-adjacent'

Yet, the people and events in the movie have a real basis despite the extremely worrying downplaying by these freaks.

Here is an interview by Jordan Peterson with the film's main actor and the real life guy he portrays in the movie.

What he says is extremely worrying and shows just how many monsters out there prey on vulnerable children/babies.....trafficed into slavery, sex and murdered so they can be harvested for organs.

Yup I am aware of that film. Now that it's been a hit Holloywood will take note so expect to see loads of movies starring the H elite rescuing babies from the evil Republicans

I don't disagree about the politics and hypocrisy in Hollywood.

well the whole place does seem to be a cesspit of paedos, groomers, casting-couch sh@.ggers of women with dubious morality, druggies, hardcore Liberal-Lefties, propaganda merchants, blood-thirsty revellers in violence, and miscellaneous depravity.

the problem is that occasionally Hollywood makes a movie like 'The Joker', Alien Covenant, or Dunkirk and all is temporarily forgiven.

Yep, it's very occasional nowadays though.

I haven't seen the Joker but while Dunkirk was good it was hyper hyped.

I preferred the original. John Mills and Richard Attenborough can't be bested.

what was terrifying was just how much Joaquin Phoenix expressed a little bit of all of us.....

you can think of him when fighting to get onto a morning Train at East Croydon.

but i would agree with you that 99% of what comes out of Hollywood & the BBC is utter dirge.

It's ok and watchable but not fit to lick the original's boots. My Grandad was at Dunkirk and not demobbed until 49. Long old war for him. Driver for the first and 7th armoured.

The downside to this is that it spreads and affects some people they are trying to help.
My other half does a lot of extra's work and has had loads pulled already where American film companies are involved.
