He was a great interviewer never felt the need to push himself he he let the guest do their stuff. I haven't watch any talk shows since sick of this, the interviewer is the star BS. RIP Edited by Badger11 (17 Aug 2023 10.44am)

I spoke to him and his wife a fair few times. Often in the Co-op!

RIP seemed more talented than the current book/film pluggers. A loss a lot of people will feel.

He was good at listening. I had never realised how rare that talent is.

For all his great interviews and charity work, particularly with cricket, will always be remembered for having his boIIOx grabbed by an emu.

He was an excellent interviewer who generally asked very few questions and then allowed his guests to speak or tell a yarn or tell a joke. His shows with Billy Connolly gave us some classic TV comedy - find them on YouTube. In comparison, today's so called chat shows are nearly always self promoting the guest's latest project. He will be fondly remembered. RIP Parky.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |
