OK. Happy to accept I might fall into fan boy, love affair territory, and also I'm only 41 so haven't seen the full pantheon of Palace talent over the years - but with each passing game I'm finding it harder to think of a player we've ever had as talented as Olise.

When he's not ice cold from the spot, he's scoring belting free kicks, to some beautiful passing to the chest and volley from the other day. Likewise his dribbling highlights are top tier Bolasie levels.

Maybe I'm going mad, but to me I find myself saying he's the best we've ever had more often than a few times in the week. No doubt he'll be gone in the next window or two but could easily be our first 100m player.

Is it just me?

he is a very talented lad, and is improving which is nice to see. This season he's adding a few goals to his game which is great.

His overall game is still a little limited. Very one footed, lacks upper body strength, unlike Bolasie, defensively he is poor and he seems disinterested when challenging for a header.

To my knowledge he has only ever scored 1 free kick for us - v Man U last year - so let's not get carried away.

He will move on in a year or so, so let's enjoy him while we can.

Did you spot it yesterday?

After his second goal Olise actually smiled. Happy for the guy he is in good form.

I would not play him against Everton it looks like he has a mild injury so why risk it. I expect they will win anyway.

I would like Franca and Ozoh have a game.

So is there any more news on the mild injury? Roy said afterwards it was not serious, but there were also reports that Michael looked upset as he walked off the pitch. Anyone know any more?

The right place at the right time

Does anyone know if Olise's new contract has a release clause? I am assuming it has to or he would not have signed it. If his old release clause was reportedly £35m I can see the new one being at least £50m as they know he will probably not be at Palace for longer than Summer 2025.

I don't so my comments are opinion only. I would be surprised:

1. if there wasn't release clause. Olise insisted on one when at Reading (hence we got him for £8m) and when he joined Palace.
2. if such clause doesn't give Olise the right to turn down any offer which meets the release clause if he doesn't want to move to that club (as appeared to have happened with Chelsea)

I suspect he'll move to a big club at which he believes he will be a regular starter.

Absolute class player. He's got the footballing world at his feet. I also enjoy the fact he comes across as a bit of an enigma.

I have two hopes. 1) we get to see him play as much as possible this season (regarding injuries). 2) when the big boys come calling we can get maximum value for him (I would imagine there is some sort of release clause in the new contract)

The buying of players like Olise,Eze, Guehi, Doucouré etc felt like stage 1 of our change in transfer philosophy. When the first of those are sold for what I hope will be a massive profit then Stage 2 will begin and the challenge will be to bulk out the squad and create a better balance with more talent. To try to directly replace stars usually ends in disappointment but to improve the squad as a whole is the key.

In my humble opinion Olise is better than Antony whom Man Utd signed in a deal which could reach £86 Mill.

That bar is so low it's underground

Sadly Olise will leave us sooner reather than later, but hopefully a buyout clause waas removed completely so as a bidding war can start and Steve can control it. and lets face it he wont be cheap and rightly so. I haven't seen a young player with so much quality and ability for a long time bar Jude Bellingham . I would even go as far to say he is better than Jude. At the end of the day we are a selling club or feeder club as some call it . We also have a new stand to build .Lets face it every player at our club is for sale if the price is right .

Now I know we are all excited by Olise's contributions and the hint of what is to come, but let's not get too carried away and fall to hyperbole.

I don’t think olise or eze have a release clause. Shrewd business by SP if so.

I understand why a club would want a release clause I don't get why a player would think it's a good idea. It's become fashionable but for me it favours the club too much.

I think he is a better player than Saka - not sure why Southgate has not made more of an effort to get him involved in the full England set up.

Wenger told him last year he needs to score more goals. How he has responded!
He needs to work a lot moree on his right foot. Do what George Best did and where his shooting boot on his right during training.
That second goal had Messi's name written all over it. The way he just stroked it home. Bit like his penalty at City. The kid is sheer class, getting better all the time. He is going all the way.
