Which of the posters on this thread is "keen on selling him...for big money"?

I believe every poster, so far, recognizes that Michael is a rare and special talent. I am also confident that every one of us would want him to stay.

HOWEVER, Michael has shown that he will control his own development through the football pyramid as evidenced by:

1. His release clause in his Reading contract
2. His release clause in his first Palace contract
3. The apparent fact that the clause in his Palace contract included his right to say 'no' to a move even if the release clause was triggered, which has been reported to have been what happened.
4. It is possible (even likely IMO) that his current contract includes similar clausing albeit with a higher release figure

IMO Michael will leave us when he believes it to be in his best interests which I suspect will be when a big club offering him regular football meets his and his contracts criteria. I suspect that may be as soon as this coming Summer, sadly.

In the meantime, let's all sit back and enjoy his wonderful skills.

I suspect the release clauses are more to do with his agent than him. To have a release clause at such a young age at Reading was very sensible business.

In terms of saying no to a move, there is no need to put this in a contract, every player has the right to refuse to move when under contract. The fact that we doubled his money at the same time must have helped!
Incidentally how do you think the release clause was so widely known? Could that be due to his agent??

The question is whether we will have him next season. The odds must be less than even.
There has to be a good chance he would move to the continent. He is prone to injury and the premier league is a very physical league , just look at Kevin De Bryune, the guy gets targeted and kicked and looks like he won’t be walking after he’s 40.
I just hope we get good money for him, I would estimate around the £70-80m range.
He is still pretty raw, has never played in the Champions league, has already been injured quite a bit, so it will be a gamble for the buying club that he stays fit.

And the rest.

I have no doubt that both Chelsea and Man C have shown interest. If Liverpool join the party, then we can look towards 100m. If they want him, they'll outbid each other.

Agree with that , If Anthony at United is worth 80 mill plus then Olise, if he keeps playing like he is now and i see no reason why not , he will be 100 mill plus . No-one wants him to go but i think its inevitable . I love his next step to be Barcalona or Real Madrid to tell the truth. He is that good .

There is another article, I think the metro that says his new release clause isn’t much higher than the original 35m. I hope that is not true as the sale of olise could enable a significant much needed rebuild. I agree with a lot of posters here. 80-100m is realistic. He has an amazing future ahead of him

Not if he still has a release clause, which seems to be the case. Could be in the region of £50m to £60m based on the articles doing the rounds today. Where did they get their info? His agent perhaps

Would that not set the starting price if there is (we hope) a bidding war?

Mirror are saying the new release clause is around £60m. Why bid more than that?

I'm not sure it works like that. Once the release clause is met the player is allowed to negotiate terms with the club but if multiple offers come in that trigger the release clause he is under no obligation to go to the one with the biggest offer

Let's say his release clause is 60 million and Liverpool offers that. Man City counters with 70 and Man Utd with 80. Obviously, Palace would prefer United to prevail but Olise might think "Why would I want to join that circus without European football" and turn down City as they wouldn't agree to make him a guaranteed starter. Salah may have left Liverpool by then and he is the obvious replacement. If he gets something approaching Salah's salary that could well be where he ends up
