Make of this what you will (and wait for the weekend revelations? - which will probably be underwhelming)

Andersen, not the 1st time he's spoken out, good on him(imo).

Must be incredibly frustrating as a central defender to feel as though even your best efforts will likely be futile if there's nobody scoring at the other end...

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Done nothing and gone backwards. No surprise really. Anyone in our squad wanted will want to leave if anyone is interested.

Be careful what you wish for ,we might actually buy a centre back who can win a header and get some decent challenges in . All very well spraying 50 yard passes all over the pitch but your primary role is defending .

Instead of moaning to reporters he should have been looking at the guy down the other end in blue with a 6 on his back and learned something

And we still need a striker

Don't agree at all with this Elpis. For my money Andersen has been pretty much our best player every time I have been to Selhurst Park over the past couple of seasons. Against Brentford his passing was not as good as usual but he was defensively dominant, more so than Guehi in my view.

Im not saying he's useless just that if he is going to moan about the creative side of the team he should start by looking at his own game . If he was better defensively maybe we wouldn't need two or three defensive midfielders and could play a more attack minded midfield .

Unbelievably idiotic comments, why did we turn down 60m from Newcastle then

There will always be rocks in the road ahead of us. They will be stumbling blocks or stepping stones; it all depends on how you use them.

Guehi said much the same thing in his post match comments on the CPFC sites - that when the team creates as much opportunities as we had last night you have to put some of them away. We’ve gone back to a team that relies on one player - and when he’s not playing we look clueless up front.

I remember a cynical Steve Archibald (ex Spurs and Barcelona for the youngsters) saying that,
'Team spirit is an illusion brought about by winning.'
If that's a valid assessment of a player's thinking it would be no surprise that just 6 wins in 26 games could lead to the Palace players looking at teammates and quaestioning whether improvements could be made.
Cliques form and bad feeling develops.

Newcastle never offered 60m for Andersen. Indeed, according to clickbait (if you can believe that) Newcastle baulked at the 40m price tag we purportedly put on him.

Furthermore, there are plenty of £60m plus players in the PL who are proving to have been overhyped and not worth anything like what clubs have paid for them, e.g. (IMO)
- Antony
- Caiceido
- Mudryk
- Fernandez (Chelsea)
- Maguire
- Pepe
to name but a few.

I have some sympathy for Elpis's view of Andersen. Whilst Joachim was excellent in his first season with us and had good spells last season, I think he's not been at his best for periods this season.

Whether you rate Andersen or not and you'd have to be brain dead not to, you have to say he's right. A couple of signings would really boost the squad and sooner rather than deadline day would be preferable. They'd no chance of Roy giving any of the youngsters a chance to prove themselves, so we need a couple of 28 year olds that he will play.
