They can't in a General Election although they can vote in local elections. I guess Miss Valance must have UK passport.

If she needs to obtain one through marriage I'll dutifully make that sacrifice.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Well off thread but this made me laugh.

It's a long time since Wisbech and pretty would have featured in the same sentence. I know why. I lived there.

It may not be in Truro but there is an incinerator in the clay country between Newquay and St Austell which does much the same thing. Nothing to be frightened of and much better than landfill.

I can see Reform beating the Lib/Dems to 3rd in the total number of votes but getting no seats.

That's FPTP for you.

The decimation of the Tories will be made considerably worse by Reform. In any close runs between Lab and Con, they will ensure a clear red victory.

The Lib/Dems have an all but invisible presence. They are that kid in the playground with a weedy voice who's name no-one remembers even though they have been in the same class for years.

Whether it's first past the post or proportional representation the real reality is that the problems inherent within modern democracy...to be summed up in one word, globalism (along with the abuse of Keynesian economics)..... will eventually destroy western or European civilisation via demographic replacement/competency crises....it's just an argument over which system destroys it sooner.

The solutions lie elsewhere as 'liberal democracy'...aka, social liberalism....unlike social conservativism did....actually makes it illegal to overturn it.

It's authoritarian at its core...which is ridiculous considering its self image.
