Jol offers olive branch to DOWIE

Tottenham boss Martin Jol has decided to make peace with IAIN DOWIE after the two managers were involved in a war of words.

DOWIE criticised Jol's tactics while working as a Sky TV pundit in Spurs' recent match against Aston Villa.

Jol was upset by the comments and said DOWIE was "not fit to mend my shoelace" even though DOWIE was doing his job by giving his opinion.

And Jol soon back-tracked when DOWIE wanted him to "show some balls" and meet him face-to-face. Now the Spurs boss wants to draw a line under the affair.

He said: "There is no problem between IAIN and me whatsoever. It’s not the done thing for one manager to talk about another manager’s team.

"But we are good colleagues. He’s the same as I was in Holland. He’s taken a small team into the Premiership and I was the same.

"IAIN DOWIE knows I don’t like it when managers make comments about each other’s teams. That was the only thing but there’s no big problem. I respect him and he knows that.

"He shouldn't make comments on my team, but when he is a pundit you have to say something and I appreciate that."
