Gary Borrowdale has signed for Coventry City after failing to agree on a new contract with Crystal Palace.
Peter Taylor had indicated over the past few weeks that the club were unable to persuade the 21-year-old to sign a new contract with the Eagles, and former boss IAIN DOWIE was quick to move to capture his sixth summer siging for Coventry City.
As Borrowdale is under the age of 24, a transfer fee will be decided by tribunal.
The England Under 21 international had impressed Palace fans in the later part of last season with a number of assured displays in the left back position, and won the young player of the year award.
DOWIE was pleased at his recent signing: "Gary has performed consistently well for Crystal Palace at this level and I think it's easy to forget just how young he is with the amount of games he has played.
"I made it clear when I joined the Club that we needed strength and depth in all areas on the pitch and I believe Gary can certainly help us to achieve that."
