Crystal Palace have placed veteran defender NEIL RUDDOCK on the transfer list. It is reported that this has been done by mutual consent. RUDDOCK was signed by the Eagles from West Ham this summer.
The former Liverpool and England man made 26 league and cup appearances for Palace, but recently failed to hold down a regular first-team spot after being sent off twice and struggling with injuries and loss of form.
The 32 year-old was dropped from the team for the return leg of the Worthington Cup semi-final at Liverpool but returned to the team for the 2-2 draw with West Brom on Saturday.
RUDDOCK, however, does not appear to have long-term future at Selhurst Park.
Alan Smith said: "We've agreed to put him on the transfer list because realistically he needs to play first-team football at this stage of his career and we cannot guarantee him that.
"It was agreed with NEIL and his agent that he is available for transfer with immediate effect."
