Freedman set for farewell

Dougie Freedman is set to make an emotional farewell to Crystal Palace in his testimonial match against Fulham on Tuesday night.

With Palace manager NEIL Warnock favouring a younger attack and refusing to comment on Freedman's future, it's likely the striker will be on his way out of the club.

And former strike partner NEIL SHIPPERLEY has urged fans to turn up in their droves to pay tribute to a Crystal Palace legend at Selhurst Park.

“If this is Dougie’s last game I don’t think any fans should let the opportunity pass them by,” SHIPPERLEY told the South London Press.

“Everyone knows what kind of service and important goals he has scored for the club and this is a way of them saying thanks.

“I know his 10 years at the club have come in two spells but it’s still a massive credit to him. When will there be another Palace player to get a testimonial? We’ll have to wait a long time now.

“It will be sad if it is Dougie’s last game in a Palace shirt but these things do end - it’s just important the supporters get behind it.”
