I watched the coverage on BBC2/4

Enjoyed every set I watched.......

James
The Lumineers
ZZ Top
Foals
Muse

Muse and ZZ Top absolutely Smashed It.

The others were pretty awesome too.

Good start to the festival!

It seemed to me that ZZ Top, who used to be all about a solid, tight groove, now had a drummer playing like the usual double-bass-drum-drummer who was too busy, and their drive and groove was missing. If you compare how they played at Glasto with the recorded versions, yesterday's versions were busier and loose- like a bad covers band who hadn't listened closely enough to the originals and with a drummer who needed to be told to fill less.

Me too! (on both counts). This will probably be the best singalong event too!

So are they

It must have been over 45 years ago when I saw them at Fairfield Halls when Jeff Lynne and myself were both youngsters in our early twenties

I was at the Wembley, Out of the Blue concert in 1978, boy were we all impressed with that 'spaceship' the like of which hadn't been seen on stage before. All looks pretty tame by today's standards....
