I take some heart from these events. Which might seem an odd thing to say when they are so disgraceful. The bulk of GOP voters are decent people who have been seduced by Trump and prepared to put up with his style in the interests of their political agenda. They will be every bit as appalled by the violence as everyone else. They aren't all red necks looking for an excuse to riot. If, as I think they will, they will think this as a step too far. The Republican Senators will doubtless speak out against it, showing unity with their Democratic opponents. It might, just might, mean that for some at least the healing may well begin earlier than was previously hoped. There will always be some nut cases. There always have been. It's just that they have been given encouragement by the idiot in the WH. Finding some way to keep him quiet after the 20th is the biggest problem. Don't rule anything out after today. How long before they demand a recount over todays senate election, that victory was vital for the democrats and thankfully they won, can have some real change over there now, times they are achanging!

Today has been interesting tv, handbag stuff, except for one poor lady shot dead. Trump bares responsibility for leading her to the building and stoking the fire! Today has been a great day for democracy, the Democrats won the two seats needed to gain control of the senate, Smokin Joe can wield real power, make changes, a great day indeed! Democracy has won the day, God bless the united states of America!

I very much doubt he feels guilty about anything. He is largely responsible for the events of today even taking place, and has emboldened the type of person who would commit such acts. I hope he is enjoying his grand finale. He's now managed to make even his own party members worry for their personal safety. Aside from wackos and domestic terrorists in the making, the 'marriage of convenience' and party specific support for him will now all but disappear.
