Rules

By becoming a member of the site, you agree to the following rules:

Message board

  1. This message board is for intelligent debate. Semi-literate postings lower the tone of the board and irritate everyone else.
  2. Content submitted express the views of their author only.
  3. Excessive use of SMS-style phrases are also banned, eg 2moro, m8, l8rs or U.
  4. By all means, slag off the club, management and players. But do not slag off this website, other Palace sites and more importantly, your fellow Palace supporters. If you have a problem, email us direct: editor@holmesdale.net
  5. If you are offended by a poster's comments, don't reply back with a pointless argument. Use the 'Alert a moderator to this post' link under the post in question. Any postings which may degenerate into slagging matches will also be deleted.
  6. Do not waste the moderators' time by reporting trivial offenses.
  7. Flaming - We do not tolerate abusive, malicious, personal attacks on the message boards. You will be banned if you persist in this behavior.
  8. Transmit any message, information, data, text, software or graphic files, or other materials ("Content") that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, libelous, hateful or racially, ethnically, sexually or otherwise objectionable.
  9. You agree to not submit swear words in such a way as to circumvent the forum's built-in swear word removal system.
  10. By submitting (e.g., uploading) content to The Holmesdale Online message board, you automatically grant The Holmesdale Online the royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive and fully sub licensable right and license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, perform and display such content (in whole or part) worldwide and/or to incorporate it in other works in any form, media, or technology now known or later developed.
  11. Do not post or transmit any content on the messageboard that contains a virus, Trojan horse or other mischievous content.
  12. Do not post or transmit any unsolicited advertising, promotional materials, "junk mail", "spam", "chain letters", "pyramid schemes" or any other form of solicitation.
  13. Do not upload or transmit any content that infringes any patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright or other proprietary rights ("Rights") of any party. The Holmesdale Online is not responsible for the content of external internet sites. Do not submit any Content that you consider to be private or confidential.
  14. Do not use The Holmesdale Online's features in a manner that adversely affects the availability of its resources to other users (e.g. excessive shouting [use of all caps] or flooding [continuous posting of repetitive text or topics]).
  15. When creating a new topic, you must ensure that you check that a similar one does not already exist.
  16. You must not create the same topic in more than one forum. (Doing so is called cross-posting). You should pick the single most appropriate forum for your message. Duplicate posts will be deleted.
  17. If necessary, we will make a complaint with your internet service provider. Should you be posting from a work ISP, your boss will eventually be notified. Similarly from a school/college, where relevant tutors will be informed.
  18. In the event of an extreme case posts will be passed onto the police. All postings have their IP address logged, so we can track you down.
  19. Do not use the message board as a means to promote political activism.
  20. You must not register more than once. Doing so may get one or both registrations and all the posts deleted. If you have an issue logging into an existing account please contact webmaster@holmesdale.net.
  21. You must not re-register once banned. A ban from the Holmesdale Online means you are no longer welcome to use our website. Re-registering will lead to a permanent ban of the new account and a complaint to your ISP.
  22. We have a team of moderators who manage the various discussion forums. Please treat them with courtesy and respect. Remember, moderator decisions are final and discussions regarding their actions are not permitted on the forums. Members must not question their judgements as they are far too busy to enter into debates or arguments. If you continue to do so, you may be banned from the website.
  23. We have the right to ban any user that unfairly criticises the Holmesdale Online and/or its owners.

Breaking any of the above Rules of Conduct will make your Holmesdale Online account subject to immediate banning, or your message deleted, edited or moved. Further the forum moderators may contact your ISP (Internet Service Provider) due to the severity of your posts.

The Holmesdale Online retains the rights to exclusively determine what violates any of the above rules.

If you do not agree to all of the above, then do not register or post.
