In celebration and memory of Jo Cox MP (1974-2016)

"Jo believed in a better world and she fought for it every day of her life with an energy, and a zest for life that would exhaust most people. She would have wanted two things above all else to happen now, one that our precious children are bathed in love and two, that we all unite to fight against the hatred that killed her.” (Brendan Cox)

Funds are being raised to support causes close to Jo's heart, as chosen by her family:

The Royal Voluntary Service, to support volunteers helping combat loneliness in Jo's constituency, Batley and Spen in West Yorkshire.

HOPE not hate, who seek to challenge and defeat the politics of hate and extremism within local communities across Britain.

The White Helmets
: volunteer search and rescue workers in Syria. Unarmed and neutral, these heroes have saved more than 51,000 lives from under the rubble and bring hope to the region.

Here's an opportunity for any of us to give what we can manage to show our practical support:

'Just mentioning that it would've been her birthday today.

Great tribute from Google as well who also reference the fund:

Is Jo Cox going to become the Liberal Lee Rigby, in which all manner of s**t gets justified in her name and she becomes a martyr to absurdist popularity nonsense, just because she was unlucky enough to be a murder statistic in a time of vague interest in politics.

I have nothing against Jo Cox, but like about 90% of the population, I'd never heard of this 'Saint of Liberal left causes' (many of which I ascribe to) prior to her being murdered. Day before she was no one, day after she's all the news.

Now her death was tragic, but lets at least wait until she's been buried before turning her memory into a means of extracting money from people to fund causes (good or bad).

Google+. That'll ensure that no-one sees it.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

I'm torn on the whole Jo Cox thing. On the one hand I think, I probably would, but some of the pictures kind of make her look a bit too munty.

But then I think, yeah you say that Jamie, but you done far worse that someone who looks a tiny bit like they have a bit of Downs.

Too soon?

Since the Labour party are a f***ing disaster and have been hijacked by far left mentals, it's not surprising that they have been falling over themselves to worship a left wing Joan of Arc/Virgin Mary/Mother Teresa.

As awful as it was, it's become quite nauseating to see media drooling all over it

Again you say they're a disaster. How so? Tooting by election, a 7% swing from Tory to Labour. Public support for Labour policies on renationalisation, Sadiq Khan trouncing the Tories in the Mayoral election. Let's have some evidence please.
