Now don't get me wrong, it would of been great to pick up points v City, but with Hull around the corner, was us getting beaten 5 0 a wake up call to the players? If we of lost 1 0, the whole mood would of been different, yes still a loss but not a embarrassing loss, so maybe this will make the team give more than they normally do to repay us back after a pathetic display?

It is just a thought, it has happened with teams in the past.

Sorry if someone has said this somewhere already

Thoughts?

I think the only positive to take out of it is that our backup players are not good enough and that the squad needs a shake up at the end of the season.
I mean where is Ledley for starters surely he isnt behind all the players on the bench in the pecking order?

Yup. With the Manchester United result against Arsenal going the way it did it means that they are even less likely to turn up on the last game of the season too.

Not as good as McArthur, and not a patch on Miliojavic - In terms of the bench its debatable whether Ledley is a better option than Flamini (Defensively) or provides the kind of ability Sako or Lee have (offensively).

But I believe he is actually injured.

We have known this for ages.
No great revelation at the Man C game !

In terms of "Backup players" are you referring to McArthur and Kelly ? McArthur has been praised for his performances in the past and Kelly, once severely criticised has received plaudits of late.

As for some of the others - just NOT up to the required standard IE, Lee, Mutch, Flamini,Ledley,Sako etc etc.
Big re-building job for next season, irrespective of the Division we will be playing in.

Yea i agree. Other things like chungy hasnt been on the bench for ages, where has sako has every game yet, he brings on chungy instead of Sako i find that odd. Chungy is way too lightweight we are better off having Kakai and his young energy.

I just find it a shame our youth team gets battered every week hence why nobody is coming through the ranks.

The other thing is at least if we had a reserve team the fringe players would get some match fitness, they are so unfit when they play and they dont help us.

Hopefully had a similar effect to the Sunderland game which gave us a kick up the arse. In his post-match comments, Allardyce didn't hold back from blaming the players for making mistakes, and I doubt there will be any complacency this weekend.

In a way I'm glad its happened against Man City and not Hull. I think it the kick up the arse that the players need to re-motivate them for Sunday's game.
With the crowd behind them I think we will get the result we need.

Me and my old man thought we played okay first half, and we were a bit disorganised and City turned up the gas after the 2nd. Thought we offered an attacking threat and goal difference won't be a factor, so was happy we tried to attack

We don't have much of a defence, so have to continue to play to our strengths. As an attacking force I fancy us to outscore Hull on Sunday, and there isn't a great deal of logic playing defensively with our personnel available

As long as we continue to create I cannot see Sunday being a problem.

Happy to see Chungy come on, great at keeping possession. Milo was taken off as was booked. Would drop Remy and bring in Kaikai for bench v Hull

We lost the game following the Sunderland debacle!

It is very ofthen teams who get beaten heavyly bounce back from sutch a bad performance in the next game.Let`s hope that goes for us as well.
