Seriously, how many times a season do managers do this chasing a game. It's almost as if it's a novel tactic that no one's tried before.
I'd of been more concerned if he hadn't tried it.

Precisely.

Only recently I have seen Christopher Samba moved up front by A.Villa and he has moved from defence to attack during a game before.

It doesn't make it right however. I not saying don't chase a game but without a striker on the bench in the premier league come on.

We had recognised strikers in Campbell and Remy last season, they did nothing when coming on. So using Dann isn't a problem.

Whether one has appropriate players on the bench is a separate issue.

Moving a big defender up front provides a different dynamic in that it introduces physicality and aerial prowess which might have been lacking.I cannot see this tactic as being flawed when for example, the game is in it's latter stages and a team which has looked 'toothless' up front is in need of a goal or two.

I'm not criticising a tactic that has probably been employed by every manager at some time.

However, in this case we had no other choice as there is no recognised striker to come on from the bench. And I do have an issue with that.

We'd used our 3 subs anyway.

We didn't have a striker on bench though

So you think it's acceptable not to have a regconised striker on the bench. When there a hundred of millions at stake.
