I'm just thinking that our starting eleven v city, apart from Zaha was our best 11.
So that team minus the keeper , who I think is a f*cking joke.
Then add jimmy mac and Tomkins gives us 12 decentish players, not on current form obviously. can't really count Wickham as it feels like he hasn't played this decade. 2 of the 12 are on loan.
It's not very good really is it.

Better than last season...

The irony is that this is (my opinion only!) easily the best squad of players Palace have had since scrambling up to the PL five years ago. The trouble is that other teams with PL money have also bought better players and have ended up with much better balanced squads than ours. Had big Sam stayed on then for sure we would not be in the mess we are. And losing to comparable squads and teams like Burnley, has put us nine points or so down on comparable teams who might be in the bottom 5 or 6 at the end of the season. Looking at the bright side of life (difficult I know!) we have already played most of the toughest teams in the top six which our competitors will have to play later on in the season. So we have kind of got some of the worst over first! Whether we will be able to scramble to safety (again) come March or April time will tell. For sure its not looking good at the moment!
