But what really f***ing annoys me is lack of effort. This isn't just based on the last 7 games but almost 18 months. We are paying astronomical wages to players who don't give a s*** about the club, and stroll around the park without a care in the world. The likes of Jedinak, KG, Jerome, Chamakh, Ramage to name a few; may not have been the most talented but they fought for every ball and covered every blade of grass. I feel so disconnected from the team i love, as the players aren't putting a shift in for the shirt.

An example from this is when i went to an away game this season and after yet another defeat, they didn't even acknowledge the fans (apart from Punch and Ward) and skulked off quickly. The majority of the travelling support would have travelled hours to get there and spent a fortune and not even a thanks from the players. Sounds very petty but fans dedicate everything to follow the palace.

If we go down, so be it, we may then get players who actually put a shift in and fight for the palace. Have mistakes been made by the board.. yes, however, one thing that lays squarely at the players feet is total lack of effort and their only concern is the fat pay cheque every week.

Our home form is absolutely shambolic, and still the HF try and get the crowd going, only to be served up dross game after game. I'm not asking to win 5 nil every week, just show some passion, fight for every ball and show us you care. We are a total laughing stock at the moment and i have no confidence in this spineless bunch to turn it around.

Good post. No excuse not to put in a shift for a team that is struggling. Infact that is the time when it is needed most. Noted on the BBC today that Andy Carroll was busting a gut in the 1st half for the Spammers, no mention of any Palace player doing similar. It looks like we will have our worse first 10 games since promotion and it was this type of effort that pulled us over the line once organised then. The worry is our squad now doesn't have enough of these grafters.

It seems to be hard to incentivise players to fight to stay up. If we go down the majority of them will get picked up by other Premiership or similar-level clubs and those that don't weren't playing much anyway. They're nailed on for their £100,000 per week whether they play for Palace, someone else, or not at all. Why would they bother their arse?

And we thought that some of them weren't like that and were passionate about the club. Well Puncheon doesn't seem that bothered.

The only exception is Wilf.

There is no backbone to the current team, the players seem disinterested, the Board are only interested in their cash investment which coincidentally is the same amount we would be given when we go down. Everyone will take off and take out what they're due and we'll be left with a half empty stadium (if we're lucky) and a squad of kids on cheap contracts.

Townsend ran his arse off again this week and does so every week.

Too much heading of the ball can cause Parkinson's.

One player whose form has dropped off significantly springs to mind.

Signs of Parkinsonism signs include slowness of thought, slowness of movement and difficulty in initiating movement. Dribbling too is common.

Upfront and in the box, it's true we've not seen much evidence of dribbling for quite some time but there's been plenty of heading in the past. Since then however, there's been practically no movement (apart from a little shuffling) and precious little evidence of any thinking.

Time for the team doctor to have a closer look. Better to retire him on sick grounds than expect any form of recovery.

I'm almost dreading him coming back, I hope he's going to come back with the attitude that this can be sorted with enough hard work and not that this is now an embarrassing team to play for and he'd rather be somewhere else.

Bangell - If Camus wrote The Myth of Sisyphus today, it would be about Jason Puncheon eternally trying and failing to pass with his right foot.

Will be surprised (and very happy) if Wilf is still a Palace player come 1st February.
Reckon one way or another will be gone in January. Either at his request to ensure he has PL(if not CL) football next season or by the board deciding to cash in there major asset - before we actually relegated.
Hope I am proved totally wrong!
