In lieu of how impotent we were yesterday against Newcastle, it would perhaps make sense to revert Townsend and Zaha back to their wing jobs and put Loftus-Cheek up front.

Although it's not his natural position, he's arguable got the attributes to succeed in that role, particularly given his imposing build and quick bursts of speed against opposition.

Although we were more than stable against Newcastle, we weren't threatening enough in the final third and every time we got the ball into wide positions, we'd didn't know what to do since there was no one in the middle.

Surely, it's worth a try...

Thoughts.

100% could see him as a false 9 and would like to see it given a chance. Hopefully he would replace PVA.

Yep, I agree.

As great as Roy's tactics were last week, I can't help feeling he missed a trick yesterday. We nullified them well and the tactics had set the game up nicely for us. We even had them on the ropes a bit, but I think Roy was taking the point and didn't want to risk putting on someone to win us the game. Bring on RLC for Schlupp rather than Wilf, pin them back and get balls in to him....i feel it was on for us to win.

Easy to say in hindsight, and had PVA been a bit more ballsy Roy would've been vindicated.

If punk ever happened I'd be preaching the law, instead of listenin to Lydon lecture BBC4

Hopefully we play Ladapo up front against Bristol City, and then through till Benteke returns. Andros and Wilf look great right now, you would like to think it will be a gift for a striker, the same as FFS looked so good with Wilf and Yannick

We need someone who is able to hold the ball up and win flick-ons, whether that is RLC, Ladapo or Sako. Neither Andros or Wilf are centre forwards and that showed yesterday. Against Chelsea they had space in behind the back and were not marked out of the game, but against teams who sit deeper we need someone to aim for with crosses, longer balls, etc.

Would be a waste of his talents, but perhaps the best option we have at the moment. Reckon he could give us a bit of hold-up play.

No harm in trying he had a go with Sako which did not work so why not try something different. Newcastle figured out how to stop2 up front with Wilf and Andros so I guess other teams will as well . We need to try something differ3nt again.

Does not matter where Loftus-Cheek play - as long he's on the pitch from kick-off. A shame to place our best player so far this season on the bench.....

I think its a great idea playing RLC up front,he is strong, quick, skillful & has the ability to score goals.

With Wilf & Townsend supplying him with chances I have have more confidence in him than any other fit Palace players to put the ball in the net.

Not sure about this. Nothing I've seen from him suggests he could play up front and score goals. Much better playing midfield and running from deep.

He has a very good scoring record for England U21's,U19's,U17's & U16's & Chelski youth teams.

He has only scored 1 goal in 22 appearances for the Chelski 1st team but alot of those were coming on as a sub & not as a striker.

I'm not saying its ideal playing him upfront but I think it would be our best option at the moment. He is strong enough to keep hold of the ball & not bad with his head.
