I did hear the match preview from their so-called "Palace correspondent" at lunchtime and my Goodness it was s***e. Talked for ten minutes and said practically nothing about Palace or the match. Four minutes of it was wondering why someone had sent them a tweet calling them boring! Pathetic.

Can't stand him. Utterly s*** manager that's only got a job because he was unemployable a t club level and scurried off with the other mediocrities in the England set up. He will be shown up for the weak, uninspirning loser he is at russia. So glad he's not Palace manager (hes been linked often enough). Useless.

He did talk a bit about Palace and how long it took to break into the first team because of the '91 team. I think he may have got the 3rd finish and cup final round the wrong way. There was mention of a record for reserve apps of about 150 I think. Interesting hearing about the Southampton academy near Crawley I think, him being released at 13 and Shearer being the same age in their academy in geordie land. Respect for his professionalism and determination to make it even though when he mentions us there's a lack of feeling or affinity, calling us 'the club I was at.' I knew he wanted out and to progress asap but he was an important leader at the time and led that 1 season yo-yo promotion side that were pretty hot at times.

Not yet done anything that any England manager of the last 20 years hasn't done - qualified with ease, yes, but at the finals will be judged by what we do against Belgium and in any knockout round games. Not expecting a lot to be honest, and that is with Harry Kane on fire at the moment too
