Hi. I usually check the latest Palace related news on the Croydon Advertiser website but it hasn't been updated since our draw at Watford. Have all the staff gone on a massive bender after the Leicester win!?

Says on their website that the football content has now moved onto another website, called football.london that also caters for londons other clubs.

weird. Think the advertiser is on the way out, sadly.

I remember looking forward to every Friday morning to buy a copy with my dad, to see the latest palace news.

its been replaced with this website for me.

I presume that there is still some flexibility to this ruling....

When I was a paperboy I used to hate Fridays because my bag was three times heavier as nearly everyone on my round took the Advertiser.

It was Thursdays for me with the ‘Erith Observer & Kentish Times’. Nothing about the Palace to read in there as I went about my business though.

Wednesdays were pretty bad too, as everyone back then took the TV Times and Radio Times, before the days of TV listing deregulation.

Nothing eclipsed Sundays for weight of delivery bag-ness though!

Used to work at Trojans down Purley Way, you could get the Adder late on Thursday afternoon if you knew what shop to go to, like you lads, i used to love it for the Palace news, always at least 2 full pages and often 3, Broad sheet size too, not like today's postage stamp size.

I used to deliver from a newsagents called MacAdams in Glebe Way, West Wickham - opposite the old fire station. I think it's now a pizza place. Worst day was Tuesday when lots of houses took Women and Women's Own. The Beckenham Advertiser appeared on Thursdays, I think, but it didn't have much Palace news, so I bought the Croydon Advertiser on Fridays anyway. On Sundays I used to read the Palace reports in all the papers before I delivered them. If there was an especially good one, I bought the issue so that I could cut it out for my Palace scrap-book - which I still have.

I buy the Advertiser if there's something major Palace related that I want for my scrapbook

As a newspaper, it is garbage and terrible value for £1.10

At Sainsbury's next the the ground, they have had to put a sign up saying 'these are not free papers' because people were taking them thinking it was a freebie, they look so bad

After the 2016 FA Cup Final, all the national papers were only interested in reporting the "Man Utd are still going to sack Van Gaal anyway' angle, there was little of the match, and less still on Palace, so I made the effort to get to Croydon in order to get the Advertiser. What a piss poor effort it was - just a 4 page colour pull out, hardly 'Cup Final' coverage of the local team in one of their biggest every matches.

It needs killing off in my opinion, it is a shadow of its former self
