How refreshing to have a Ref today who was virtually invisible throughout the game.
He let the game flow and was consistent throughout.
Shame he didn’t ref the Liverpool game.

Shame we dont hve him for every game . Though i think he was the ref that sent off Forest's Willy Boly against Bournemouth. Prob the worst decision i have ever seen . Was a refreshing change though not to have a bias ref .

Yeah but two 'small' clubs that dont really matter (to the Premier League), who would he be biased towards???

He was the referee who issued a second Yellow to Willy Boly.
I give praise to Robert Jones for his splendid performance yesterday.Well done Sir !

The other ref was as useless as ever though .Brentfords opener didnt need 4 minutes to confirm it was onside .They really have to make that process quicker .

Either that or get the dancing girls on every time someone says "VAR checking "

And we still need a striker

Although not his fault, what a farce the VAR was as per usual for their goal, if it’s that close, give the goal and get on with it, before VAR the attacking team would get the benefit of doubt and if it’s that close goals shouldn’t be getting chalked of anyway even if it is a nats whisker offside.
Besides our defending was so poor we didn’t deserve to get away with it

He did ok, I thought he let some of the first half fouls on Eze go unpunished far too often but other than that was ok and he ‘handled’ the game well. Mind you there wasn’t a bad tackle or angry word muttered throughout the entire match.

His second yellow awarded against Boly though was one of the worst refereeing decisions you will ever see and because of that I don’t think we can offer him too much praise until he shows a consistency that doesn’t include decisions / judgement like that.

Couldn’t agree more!

VAR was and still is apparently only for ‘Clear & Obvious’ errors, NOT to re-referee the game. If it takes almost 4 minutes to look at any decision then it is not Clear & Obvious!

In the final analysis, Robert Jones is worthy of praise for his performance yesterday.

Apropos the Willy Boly 'Yellow', incidents seen on the television can be of significant variance from those seen by the referee from his/her angle in real time. I had a conversation about this matter only the other week with a former PL referee of high standing.

"Clear and obvious" does not enter the equation in terms of Offside reviews.

Exactly, although it was against us and I thought our defending was slack and we got caught cold, it was a swift move a good cross and a decent goal and didn’t deserve to get disallowed for what obviously would’ve been that close.

Obviously if it was last minute instead of the first minute against the weed or Man U I might not be feeling so generous
