Two BBC news reports from 1985/86: The first from Sep 85, announcing that Charlton were moving to Selhurst Park, the second from Jan 86, a Football Focus preview of the first match at Selhurst for the two 'home' clubs. A nice friendly exchange at the end between Coppell and Lennie Lawrence. It was a crazy time. Remember the Charlton away game when we were given leaflets i think, either in the programme or through the turnstiles, announcing the groundshare. I don't remember there being too much upset among the Palace fans although we obviously weren't happy about it. I was more upset about losing 3-1! Do remember the Charlton fans being angry though. The home game in January we won 2-1 incidentally with goals from Finnegan and Taylor with a crowd of 11,523. All credit to Charlton though, despite the massive upheaval of moving, they still managed to get promoted at the end of that season. We didn't do too bad ourselves, finishing 5th, our highest position in 5 seasons.
