i see videos on twitter from cpfc official showing southgates goals for cpfc after his england appointment but...

still, one of my favourite goals ever was his vrs pompey where he took on 3 players and smashed it in from 35 yards.

i know 75% of this site wont remember it but does anybody have a video clip, its on my 93/94 vhs but other than that ive seen one somewhere but cant find it online.

I am one of the 25% of people on here who do remember it, but unfortunately can't find a clip of it either!

I remember it well! Was stood in the Sainsbury's end and watched it fly in at the other end.

I also only have it on VHS in the end of season video.

I was at that game. I was living in Portsmouth at the time making it all the sweeter

I was at this game. Standing down the front of the Holmesdale. We scored 4 stunning goals that day and tore Pompey a new arse.

I also remember Chris Armstrong scoring a superb diving header. It was that game that set us on our way to success that season.

I was there. That game set us on our way to the Champioship title. We'd not one our first two games (lost 2-0 at Bristol City the week before, obvs) and went one down in that game. Then, as if by magic, we woke up, thumped them 5-1 and didn't look back.

I usually look for season highlights (93-94 in this case) and then scroll around till I find the right game. Chris Armstrong's opener against Barnsley after 9 seconds being another highlight and my what a cold away terrace that was at the end of November.

My memory of that game was that i took three of my daughters to watch it with me. I'm wondering if that was kids for a quid match or there local school perhaps had been given tickets? Anyway, having stuffed Pompey and heading home on the bus I asked my daughters how much they enjoyed the game. Two of them became Palace fans and are still today and the other asked me who had won. She has no interest to this day in Palace / football - I still love her though :-)

It's a brilliant goal but it's funny how time plays tricks on us. He beat one player superbly and it was from 25 yards

Remember it well, great run from inside our half.

Also remember the previous game, took my teenage son to Bristol City where we lost 2-0 and I seem to remember we had Bobby Bowry [ 7 stone wet through ] sent off for supposedly hurting their 15 stone brute of a forward.

Topped off by my som, giving plently of verbals to the City fans walking by as we drove out of ground only for traffic to slow and them catching us up and he sloping down in his seat so they couldn't see him

After that game we were about 2/3 from bottom of league but the pompey match fired up our season
