I know Arsenal are arguably the BEST team in the division with the ball
BUT
We were the worst Ive seen in a while with the ball yesterday
Terrible
And Zaha once again was giving it away far too cheaply
I thought we looked very good v Watford , but yesterdays performance needs to improve drastically

Is that so,we must have been bad then. I haven't seen anything of the game but we are generally pretty poor with the ball having a very bad habit of giving it away cheaply.

We haven't played that badly with the ball (not that we had it much) or without for a long time. Not a good start for BFS. At least against Chelsea and, to a lesser extent, Manure we were in the game.

We were pressed very quickly when we had the ball and when you are lacking in confidence it makes it even worse.

BFS must get the players wanting the ball and then believing in their own ability once on it. Sadly their self believe and confidence has been eroded away over recent months.

Time after time over recent weeks it looks as though players don't want the ball and aim to get rid once received. BFS really has his work cut out in my opinion.

Strangely I was under the impression that Pardews transition was supposed to.be built around better ball retention!!

We really have gone backwards this season in my opinion.

i only have a basic tactical understanding, but it's not the first time teams have made us look silly by pressing us hard, often 3 on 1 yet we're unable to find an open player to pass to. When we press it looks much more like pointless chasing.

I'm not a fan of Big Sam (mainly because he chews gum with his mouth open) but I hope he can improve both how we deal with opposition press and our own pressing.

Funny. They seemed to have all of that 3 games ago. They played very well. How have they lost confidence and self belief since then?

Just curious.

This. A team lacking confidence and a team drilled in pressing with confidence doing it and able to damage after succeeding is only going to go one way.

We are looking at the wrong match to gauge the situation.
