Believe I met this gent in a pub in Carshalton.

Bit before my time, but had a nice chat with him and he was a thoroughly decent chap. Think I had a programme from 73 that had his name in the reserves, possibly playing alongside Alan Devonshire before he went on to make his name with West Ham

Good that the club have acknowledged him. Condolences to any of his family who may read this

Indeed the name is familiar to me.

Perhaps I saw him play for the reserves in the old 'Football Combination'. The reserves used to play at Selhurst Park when the first team were away.

My thoughts and condolences go out to all his family and friends.
