He's the sort of player who will attract low ball offers from chancers both here and Europe. His true value is circa £60 but I wouldn't sell. His work off the ball is just as good as his goal scoring. Truly amazing transformation. Only 60 quid?

Does anyone believe that he can score many goals without Eze or Olise? He is not that valuable. There are teams that will give him the service he needs to score...

Every striker needs good service and the bigger teams can nearly always do that. As I said earlier, I think he’s worth £60m but want to keep him.

Looking at Mateta’s goals, assists were provided by Eze 3, Munoz 2, Olise 2, Hughes (+ 1 for penalty), Wharton, Schlupp, Ayew, Richards. With a couple of astute purchases I think there will be enough passes for JP to feed off for his 20 goals next season.

Strikers go for top money Mateta will be between £20-£25million. I don't think £20m gets you much these days. Didn't Arsenal want more than that for Nketia, who's largely unproven? Would say north of £30m more likely

Value doubles when a player demonstrates he can do it in the Premiership against top teams. Mateta, Olise and Eze have all done that in spades whether it’s record goal scoring sprees or outrageous shredding of opponents defences. If we must sell, Parish needs to ensure we get top dollar as such players are like gold dust. United, City & Chelsea would pay the piper.. other teams not so much. I wouldn’t even start negotiations with the likes of Spurs who we all know would have more moves than John Travolta to try to pay peanuts. I hope we can keep them all for another season and target a top 6 finish.

Have we put Mateta up for sale or has he put in a transfer request? He is only worth, what another club is prepared to pay, as shown with Zaha, you can put a price on a player, but if nobody interested he stays.
