I'm missing the presence of Barry Bannan ... has he fallen out of favour with the gaffer? If so, what's the problem .. I think he's done us proud to date! Thoughts?

I presume that TP didn't think he was the right choice for a big physical stoke side.

I spoke to Bannan after Saturday's game. He's not happy he's not playing at the moment. Quotes here - [Link]

he has done well for us, but he probably wasn't the right choice on Saturday, as it was an extremely rough game against a big side.

Is this like 'Where's Waldo'? You could have a picture full of loads of photos of Joniesta with one of Bannan carefully hidden.

Great player Bannan, and to be fair he has done nothing wrong, but who would be dropped for him? He has to be a cert for the cup game.
Just when I thought that I was out...........they pull me back in |

It has nothing to do with the physical stoke side, i guessed that at first. Then i realised, he didnt play against spurs either. We can only wait and see. Edited by matthau (20 Jan 2014 6.58pm)

I think Bannan is a good player, however it would seem that most of our 1st team midfield players, are quite small in football terms. However so is a certain Mr Messi who plys his trade in Spain. He uses his height to his advantage, balance etc... So take heart lads keep working, be different, make it so that your name is the 1st on the team sheet...It can be done.

I'd definitely like to see him start Vs Wigan along with Williams and O'Keefe. I know it would be a physically light weight midfield but those three are so energetic and great at playing a pass-and-move game I think it could work. Plus, it would give Jedinak a much deserved rest and ease Guedioura back into regular matches if he can come on as a second half sub. I've no doubt Bannan will be back for the Wigan game.

Bannan is busy being put on the rack and stretched out until he is tall enough to qualify for Pulis's all 6-foot plus XI.
