Just found this on the Internet while looking at haunting sites in Croydon. Is there any truth in it?? 🍺

Billy Callender certainly killed himself at Selhurst, can't say I believe in ghosts and curses though...

Think the story about the German pilot has been mixed up, Quite a few wallets have gone missing over the years in New Addington and its often said "it must have been a ghost what nicked it" Edited by bubble wrap (01 Feb 2014 10.09pm)

Billy Callender's story is tragic but Selhurst cursed...well I s'pose one of those palm reader's from Brighton may have tried...after having their manbag stolen on the tram to Addington!

many of the Charlton fans tried to put a tinkers curse on us , from the comfort of their Caravans I thought since the credit crunch Chorlton fans had downgraded to tents?

There was a bloke called Romark who supposedly cursed us back in the 70's Selhurst Park itself is supposedly built on an orchard cursed by gypsies. In 1977, then manager and fedora fan Malcolm Allison employed celebrity psychic Romark to lift the curse and subsequently the club’s luck. However, an argument about money ensued and Romark put another curse on Palace. The curse may, or may not, exist to this day. Any excuse for their crap form last season…

I seem to remember, back in the mid/late 80's somebody got this weird bloke in (a sort of male Mystic Meg) who allegedly 'cleansed' the stadium and lifted the curse. Can't remember his name, but he was actually on TV at the time, wearing a black cape and a top hat.........

Oooer ...Mystic Malcolm perhaps? If it wasn't for his top hat the description fits Batman? Whatever happened to poor ol Billy Callendar?
