Here on the BBC we have a story highlighting the call for a black culture museum by a knighted architect. Apparently that's alright and something to promote......no words like 'black supremacy' being used and nothing about discrimination or racism.....despite this clearly being about race which is discriminating on the basis of genetics. So if we are having museums celebrating someone's skin colour and race history based upon genetic difference can we also have the same for white people then? No? Why's that? All this serves to do is divide and you know that if Whites were the minority, they would be feeling this Black pride in a far more direct way as Black people did in the American South. People never really want equality for equality sake, they want power.

It would make a great venue for the Black Police Officers Association to hold their Christmas party though.

I go to quite a lot and there is almost always BME contributions to some extent. The question is if you are a BME artist would you prefer to be displayed at the Tate or the RA or be sidelines as the "black" artist at the Black Museum. The same would go for a BME scientist or architect or anyone of sufficient merit in any field. Woiuldn't it be better to display BME contributions alongside their white peers? As for history it should be relevant to the area so I would expect for instance the Museum of London to cover local BME contributions. I don't think this is required and runs the risk of other museums ignoring BME contributions because the Black Museum will do that.

Having visited the more than impressive collection of silverware in The Bernabeu, i guess that the '21st Century Hall of knives' exhibit will equally, history and achievement aside, take a lot of time.

Perhaps if they build it they can have a section dedicated to the evils committed by the evil white man....seeing as that's the implicit message that's constantly being taught......they could build it next to a section on Wakanda. Edited by Stirlingsays (02 Feb 2019 8.33pm)
