I keep seeing the trailer of it, so might check it out. It does look endlessly bleak though and of course the actual incident and aftermath was, so I'm not quite sure what I'd be letting myself in for.

Although the portrayal of Russian officials is pretty funny. Perhaps more humourous than 'Threads' (nuclear disaster series) and certainly funnier than anything James Corden has done.

Feel like I’m exposed to radiation just by watching the programme.

the acting is good, the scene seems very authentic, and the story is heating up. maybe it was chernobyl that finally finished off the rotten political regime of the Soviets. Socialism sucks. Edited by PalazioVecchio (15 May 2019 8.27am)

At the time of the accident, the USA and USSR had a Treaty about no nuclear bomb testing. Hours later, Russia broke its silence. And Welsh sheep farming was crippled (or as the Welsh would say, "proper fooked" ) Edited by Forest Hillbilly (15 May 2019 7.38am)

The children of Chernobyl and their children are still suffering, with the effect of the radiation being passed on. One charity is still out there helping - it's amazing what 4 weeks of care can do. Apparently quite a few come to the West country every year.

Edited by PalazioVecchio (15 May 2019 8.27am) Russia has always been too close to a dictatorship to label it accurately as anything. A socialist dictatorship is just a dictatorship, the socialist part is meaningless. Anyway I digress, I really want to watch this so I might give it a go...surely its a plot you can only make one series out of isnt it?
