This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

Frankly, surprised he lasted that long. Southampton were fun under him.

Rumours on the Saints website linking Marcelo Gallardo with the job. Not exactly a stunning CV.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

Southampton probably have one of the weakest squads in the PL in my view despite a reasonable outlay in the summer. A few promising youngsters and JWP, but otherwise I've not been impressed. They have tried to pick up youngsters from the top clubs on relatively low fees, but they perhaps have a couple more years before they properly shine. After spending about 70m in the summer I doubt the new manager will have much to play with in January. I think they should go for Dyche if they're going to continue operating on a relatively low-cost model. He's a good man manager and will motivate the players and won't be afraid to do what's necessary to get results. If they do go down he also has a track record of getting out of the Championship.

This season they have purchased 4 young players from Man C. Edited by Willo (07 Nov 2022 1.41pm)

RH has been a good manager for Saints. He will be out of work for about 7 days. The lure of 'new manager bounce' is attractive but it could easily be 'dead cat bounce' after a couple of weeks.
