Relegation clause is likely to be a consideration. Unless a mid table club come in that's reality for someone yet to be a regular prem player at mid table. He might be waiting to see what we're like v Everton. Man C is the cup and Bournemouth away is 31st January. I don't know if the window finishes that night or it's been extended by a day or 2. Anyone know? It's too late to be waiting anyway. We need to know by Sunday.

According to John Cross of the mirror (Arsenal fan who also wrote an official biography on Wenger) this deal is off. Shame but I dont think right back should be our priority anyway, Ward is capable on that side. Edited by Littlebogreek (19 Jan 2017 11.41am)

I note that Swansea snapped up Martin Olsson from Norwich for £4 Mill. I suppose some alternatives are Ben Davies,Andrew Robertson Ben Chilwell. Maybe even Gibbs, Evra or Shaw but I suspect these last three might be way out of our reach or simply might not be interested in joining us ? Presumably we can't commit to his wages if we go down. Or perhaps we can never commit to his high wages even in the Premier League. In that case, if this is Sam's first choice and he's thinking could be a difference maker in our relegation battle, why on Earth aren't we just loaning him? Right now we're panicking and don't want to take risks on unknown right backs but if Jenkinson stays until the summer and keeps us up we'll be in a better position to get a replacement that wants to play for Palace. Right now we just need the Premier League experienced bodies. Get him in one way or another!

Even if it is for money/you take the article as gospel, he's been told there is active interest from other clubs and he has indicated he still wants to move. If I was in his position would I want to move to a relegation threatened club, who have almost certainly tried to include a relegation wage cut clause, for less money than I am on now? Would I fcuk? A good player and a shame if to be believed.
