I will wait for official news as Talkshi!e are all over the news but have been wrong many times before. It does seem likely but could be holding us to ransom a little to get what he wants. No man is bigger than our club so I hope we don't risk the financial stability of the club to try and keep him. I would suspect it is about transfer funds, wanting to pay £30m plus for Sakho plus other players too. I would also suspect he wants his agent heavily involved just like in the past. The sh!t don't stick for no reason..... It also sounds like we have also been giving contracts out to players without Sam knowing which HAS to stop if true whether Sam stays or not. Parish has to stop being involved in this side of the club. Well the next few days are going to be very interesting and I hope whatever happens we get stability back asap as there are many players we need to sort out and we need to be ready for the new transfer market asap as otherwise it will be another panic buy situation paying over the odds again for less than average players! Some people are like Slinkies … not really good for anything, but you can’t help smiling when you see one tumble down the stairs. |

Confirmed on Sky Sports now. No argument he just wants to leave on a high.

I had a bad feeling about this ... However, Allardyce was right to seek early assurance about funding to reinforce the team. No good prolonging the scenario and being let down by prevarications over the summer. He's fulfilled his short-term objective and wanted a good clear out to take the team further. At the end of the day, we're a small club trying to survive in the big time. It's hard! Surely it can't be backing - Benteke, Schlupp, PVA, how much has he already spent? They've backed him whenever he's asked. To his credit, he's done it earl;y and we have time to build, but what is going on in the club that the only manager we can keep (Pardew) is the one we don't want! Oh well, just when I thought we had a chance to start to build something

I said when he signed I wouldn't be surprised if it was short term. Ideal appointment at the time, done what was asked and earned he's money. Cheers Sam, enjoy your retirement. Now we move forward and hopefully find a great replacement.
