Although undoubtably lucrative being "hired gun:", I do wonder if he'll regret leaving Palace. I thought he was an excellent fit for us & he could've actually built a legacy of sorts (& maybe even won something). He loss is Roy's gain!!! I hope Roy's perception of "Carpe Diem" is a little more forward thinking than Sam's

I doubt whether the chairmen of your so called gullible clubs view Sam's achievements and remuneration in quite the same mealy mouthed way that you do. When Sam joined us most of thought that we were dead certs for relegation yet he turned it round. Relegation would have cost the club several hundred million in terms of lost revenue so I'm guessing that your gullible Steve Parish regarded Sam's cost here as excellent value. Likewise Everton were spiralling downwards and were in the frame for relegation yet Sam saved them from the Championship and several hundred millions in lost revenue in the process and is therefore again good value. This is the reason BFS is not popular apart from his desire for money .

Just to add to your point he made Everton's money back simply by finishing 8th as opposed to 14th - 26 million as opposed to 14 million. Originally posted by Midlands Eagle

In my opinion pulis and allardyce done the job that was expected of them but didn't love the club. Roy done both so Roy wins hands down.

In order.... Hodgson - to lose our first 7 games and accumulate 44 points from 31 games speaks volumes about how much of a right appointment he was. Pulis - As much as he’s a piece of s**t as a person and his departure still leaves a bitter taste in my mouth, he made us tough to break down, signed some decent players in January, and gave us the 3-3 over Liverpool. Allardyce - Mercenary, but did a fine job. Also brought in Luka and Sakho, so that’s a huge plus to me.

Weren't they turning the corner under Unsworth though ? They couldn't prise Silva away from Watford and only wanted Sam on a season contract which was only extended due to him joining. Never going to be a right fit there under those circumstances. Edited by Booted Eagle (16 May 2018 8.34pm)
