I'm so relieved this season is over. There is one hell of a job waiting for whoever comes in to replace Hodgson. We don't even have even have the backbone of a side for them to build around.

Thanks Roy but this has been a truly awful season. I am not surprised at his team selection and subs today he is a stubborn old man. 1-0 down we could have brought on a striker and a winger nothing to lose. I suspect the players are as glad to see the back of that season as I am.

I think that sums up why many of us had finally had enough of Roy. Liverpool were always likely to beat us, but after about 20 minutes we didn't even try and put them under pressure, even though we had nothing to lose. We had a striker on the bench but didn't bring him on, even when it was clear Ayew and Wilf were not causing any problems. PvA came on to say goodbye, I can't see any other reason why he would come on? Next season we may well regret Roy leaving, but I doubt it can be as boring as these last 18 months. As to the Mitchell debate, the kid stopped it from being 4 or 5 nil in my view. Neither he nor Ward got any support while those in the middle looked like they'd never seen a football before such was their passing. By the end Wilf was just walking around moaning. Like many have said, I'm actually glad the season is over. Edited by taylors lovechild (23 May 2021 6.07pm)

Salah found more space when he cut inside but Mitchell has matured and I thought he was ok today. And remember, it is Mo Salah. He's a handfull for anyone.

Yes fully agree, he gets caught out a lot on wide balls, his positioning is poor and he is much to narrow, he lacks and physicality and pace to be a competent wing back at this time, hopefully as you say Ferguson may solve that problem and hopefully Mitchell will improve with experience but at the moment he is far from the standard required in PL at this time!

I would love to sit down with Roy and understand why, with 10 mins to go and losing 2-0 he thinks that bringing on a centre back and a left back is a good tactical choice. I cannot fathom the logic.
