Maybe they will now input all that spare cash they had for Chelsea on getting Palace to become the top London club

Seems like marketing speak to encourage investment to the max based upon the possibility that if they work smarter & engage additional ways forward there are more revenue streams out there to capitalise on - I would imagine that was probably drafted by the legal people who are trying to get the best bids for CFC - All very good, but what happens if tomorrow the TV money goes away - both a dramatic drop in the primary revenue stream & plenty of clubs with transfer fees still be paid on the drip. Then as you say, certain people will have invested at the top of the market. Certainly a risk - Originally posted by dreamwaverider
My prediction is that whoever buys Chelsea is buying at the very top of the market just when the global economy is balancing on the edge of a cliff on a very windy day. However, the overall landscape is not negative because the true potential of the football industry is not been unlocked yet. Investor interest in football clubs keeps increasing and the reason is that the revenue of most football clubs has been limited beyond ticketing and TV broadcasting but the potential is much bigger than that. Football clubs looking to gain a competitive advantage need to step up their commercial and sport management efforts to finally reach the next step of the industry development. Embracing technology in building an ecosystem made of effective management processes and best practices, digital enhanced, unlocking the value of their data, creating, distributing, and monetizing their content will be the real game-changer for clubs to build better teams on the pitch and achieve sustainability.

Looks like Boehly has won the contract. My question for Harris and Blitzer is this - 'Are you still interested in and committed to CPFC after looking to put your money in another club?'
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

I'd prefer we could get owners who weren't looking to jump ship the minute a "big" club becomes available.

First & foremost they are Investors & looking for a higher ROI Yet they are not serious about Palace & Steve’s choice words & tone strongly suggested “ F Off if your not interested in us “ At the time they purchased a portion they invested for academy. Yet now we need more of which the ROI could be 5 years not 1 then they are losing interest in us for sure Let them go & get serious club investors in please CPFC2010

There has been no emotional attachment to CPFC and I doubt there would’ve been with CFC. If they think a cheque or signature will increase or protect their asset (from relegation etc) they’ll agree (with the understanding they’ll get it all back, then we’ll borrow from a bank down under)

Yes, that's the way it is as Syd pointed out in a number of earlier posts. No great surprise in my view when you look at the businesses they are involved in - especially Apollo. That said, its not all bad news; they have very serious amounts of money so no risk of Palace hitting the financial buffers. Indeed, look at the support provided through Covid and also when Allardyce took over and significant funds were spent to avoid relegation. I also personally think some of their involvement is more positive than might be thought; Freedman's all embracing role is similar to that found in US sports, their involvement in the choice of coaches etc all spring to mind. I guess the issue for fans is that they have very little public role; hence, it is hard to know for sure about their influence behind the scenes or what the plans were they had in mind had the Chelsea bid been successful.

Not sure Harris and Blitzer are the right fit for us, their lack of commitment to Crystal Palace says it all. Steve must be a little peeved with their lack of integrity in this matter. If this hasn’t left a bad taste in the mouth for Steve I would be amazed….
